The total number of licenses required can be reduced when the CWP Floating License Server is used. This is because licenses are considered "in use" only when they have been checked out from the License Server.  For example, let’s assume that CWP is used by 15 people in Litigation in a particular office. This team may consist of attorneys, paralegals and support staff. Because of varying work schedules, project tasks, etc., it is estimated that no more than 10 of these team members will use CWP at the same time. Since the CWP Floating License Server only tracks the number of licenses being used, it is therefore possible to purchase 10 floating licenses as opposed to 15 standard per user licenses.

CWP Floating License Server for Citrix

The CWP Floating Licence Server automatically detects if a user is running CWP on a Citrix server and will check out a license for each session. As an example: A user working from home logs into the firm network using Citrix. The CWP Floating License Server would retrieve the hostname of the home PC and would checkout a license for this PC.
